Customize Your Sidebar and Footer with Widgets

WordPress Widgets are WordPress Plugins that add visitor visual and interactivity options and features, such as sidebar widgets for post categories, tag clouds, navigation, search, etc. They were originally designed to provide a simple and easy-to-use way of giving design and structure control of the WordPress Theme to the user in the sidebar, which is now available on properly “widgetized” WordPress Themes to include the header, footer, and elsewhere in the WordPress design and structure.

TTG CE2 Theme for WordPress supports widgets in the sidebar and footer. Using widgets is easy. In the WordPress Dashboard, select Appearance and Widgets from the menu, shown in the red box in the image below.

On the far right of the screen are areas for Sidebar and Footer. To add widgets, drag-and-drop the desired widget into the appropriate location – sidebar or footer. You may drag widgets to reorder them.

WordPress comes with many widgets already available. More widgets may be had by installing WordPress plug-ins from the Internet. Using widgets will replace the default sidebar of your theme, giving you total control over your sidebar and footer content.
